How To Manage Addresses In Crm

What this does

This guide explains the address-management flow used from CRM accounts and contacts.

Use it when you need to add, edit, archive, or set default addresses, or when you need to connect a contact to an address.

Before you start

  • The account or contact should already exist.
  • Address management is more useful when the surrounding account and contact records are already reasonably clean.

Steps

  1. Open CRM.
  2. Open the account or contact you want to work on.
  3. Click Manage Addresses.
  4. Use Add Address when you need a new saved address.
  5. Use Search address and Use Address if the lookup flow can provide a better starting point.
  6. Complete or review fields such as:
  • address lines
  • Unit / Suite
  • notes
  • whether the address should be the Default address
  1. Use Edit Address when an existing saved address needs changes.
  2. Use Archive when an address should stay on file but no longer be active.
  3. If the flow includes contact linking, use:
  • Select Contact
  • Select Existing Address
  • Role At Address
  1. Save the address changes through the dialog action.

Common mistakes

  • keeping too many active addresses without marking the real default
  • archiving an address before checking whether another workflow still depends on it
  • linking a contact to the wrong address role

What to do next

After the address data is correct, return to the account or contact record and confirm the record now reflects the right operational context.
