How To Add And Verify A Domain

What this does

This is where you add shared subdomains or custom domains for company-facing links such as the customer portal and other public surfaces.

This matters in the apps that rely on public-facing URLs. If portal links, branded hosts, or app-specific public entry points look wrong elsewhere, the host setup usually starts here.

Steps

  1. Open the Admin App.
  2. Go to Domains.
  3. Click Add Domain.
  4. Choose the App the domain should belong to.
  5. Choose the Type.
  6. If you want a managed internal address, use Shared subdomain.
  7. If you want your own branded domain, use Custom domain.
  8. Turn on Make this the primary host for this app if this should be the main live address.
  9. Save the new domain.
  10. If this is a custom domain, open DNS Settings and add the required records at your DNS provider.
  11. Return to the page and run the verify action.
  12. After verification succeeds, activate the domain if needed.

Common mistakes

  • setting a custom domain live before DNS is fully in place
  • forgetting to mark the correct host as primary
  • adding a domain to the wrong app

What to do next

If the domain is for the customer portal, go back to the Customer Portal page and confirm the live URL.

If another app is showing the wrong public host or an unbranded link, come back here and verify the host assignment and primary setting.
