How To Add A Document In Opsdocs

What this does

This guide explains the Add Document page in OpsDocs.

Use it to choose whether a document should be uploaded, written on-platform, bulk uploaded, or supported by reusable header templates.

Before you start

  • The options shown depend on your role and OpsDocs manager/admin settings.

Steps

  1. Open OpsDocs.
  2. Go to Admin > Add Document.
  3. Review the available creation paths:
  • Edit/Add Template Headers
  • Upload Document
  • Create on Platform
  • Bulk Uploads
  1. Choose the path that matches how you want the document created.
  2. Use Edit/Add Template Headers first when the document should inherit a reusable header layout.
  3. Use Upload Document when the source already exists as a file.
  4. Use Create on Platform when the document should be written directly in OpsDocs.
  5. Use Bulk Uploads when a larger set of files needs to be staged together.
  6. If bulk drafts already exist, use Finish Documents to continue the staged setup.

Why this matters across the suite

This page is the entry point for how documents get into OpsDocs.

Choosing the right creation path reduces rework later, especially when large document sets need staging and follow-up setup.

Common mistakes

  • Bulk uploading when a single platform-created document would have been simpler.
  • Expecting creation options that your role has not been given.
  • choosing the wrong creation path and creating avoidable cleanup later

What to do next

After choosing the creation path, continue into the document editor or the bulk draft setup flow.
