How To Manage Document Lists In Opsdocs
What this does
This guide explains the Document Lists page in OpsDocs.
Use it to manage the two core lists: Document Types and Global Types.
Before you start
- These lists affect how documents are grouped and classified throughout OpsDocs.
Steps
- Open
OpsDocs. - Go to
Settings > Document Lists. - In
Document Types, add, edit, reorder, activate, or deactivate document types. - In
Global Types, add, edit, reorder, or deactivate global types. - Use drag handles when you need to change the order of either list.
Why this matters across the suite
These lists control how operational documents are organized for both admins and staff.
If the lists are vague or messy, the rest of the document system becomes harder to read and maintain.
Common mistakes
- Creating duplicate names without a clear reason.
- Leaving outdated list entries active when the business no longer uses them.
What to do next
After the lists are correct, go back to documents and confirm they can now be filed under the right types.
