How To Manage A User
What this does
This is where you edit an existing user’s profile, status, platform role, password, app access, wages, and team information.
The user record is the main place to manage someone after they have been created.
Before you start
- The user must already exist.
- Be clear on whether you are changing a profile detail, a platform role, or an app-level assignment.
Steps
- Open the
Admin App. - Go to
Users. - Click the person you want to manage.
- Use the
Profiletab to update their basic details. - Use
Statusto change their current account state if needed. - Use
Platform Roleif you need to change their overall Admin App level. - Use
Resend Invite,Send Password Reset, orChange User Passwordwhen needed. - If you open
Change User Password, enter the new password and clickUpdate Password. - Open the
Appstab if you need to control app access. UseAssign Appto add access to another app. - Open the
Teamtab if you need to place the user into a team. UseAdd Teamto create a new team assignment from inside the user record. - Open the
Wagestab if you need to review or adjust the person’s wage setup. - Use
Save Changeswhere it appears after editing profile details or role details.
Common mistakes
- changing a platform role when the real issue is app access
- updating the user record but forgetting to review wages or team assignment
- assuming a password reset changes app permissions
- assigning app access but forgetting that the subscription must still have enough seats
- using the
Teamtab to solve a company structure problem that really belongs on the teams page
What to do next
If this is a new staff member, the next likely step is to finish apps, team placement, and wages.
