How To Read And Acknowledge Documents

What this does

This guide explains the staff-facing reading flow in OpsDocs.

Use it when a document is assigned as required reading or when a staff member needs to open, read, and acknowledge the right version of a document.

Before you start

  • The document must already be available to the user through My Docs, Required Reading, or a gated document flow.
  • The document may require acknowledgement before the user can move forward.

Steps

  1. Open OpsDocs.
  2. Go to Required Reading or My Docs.
  3. Open the document when prompted.
  4. If the gate appears first, use:
  • Open now
  • or Open later
  1. If the pre-read prompt appears, use:
  • Start reading
  • or Not now
  1. Review the document content.
  2. Use Copy link if you need to share or return to the document directly.
  3. Use Reset if you need to reset the zoom level while reading.
  4. Click Acknowledge when the document requires confirmation.
  5. If the follow-up prompt appears, choose whether to continue now or come back later.

Related reading actions

Other pages in the reading flow can also show:

  • View
  • View Version
  • Open in Required Reading
  • Statement
  • Later

Common mistakes

  • leaving the document before acknowledgement is actually completed
  • assuming a visible document counts as acknowledged automatically
  • reading the wrong version when the document has changed over time

What to do next

If acknowledgement is still missing after reading, open the document again from Required Reading and confirm the latest required version.
