How To Manage Customer Portal Settings In Booking
What this does
This guide explains the Customer Portal settings page in Booking.
Use it to control portal access, customer booking edits, and customer cancellation rules.
Before you start
- The user must already have access to
Booking. - This page is intended for
Admins.
Why the Admin App matters here
The page itself points users back to shared domain or host setup when they want a custom portal URL.
That means some of the customer-facing behavior depends on configuration that does not live entirely inside Booking.
It also means the Booking-side portal experience should be reviewed beside the shared portal and domain setup in the Admin App, and beside any billing-side portal experience in Invoice if customers will use both.
Steps
- Open
Booking. - Go to
Settings. - Select
Customer Portal. - Review the
Customer portal URL. - Use
Set Custom URLif the public host setup still needs work. - In
Customer portal access, choose how portal accounts should work. - Decide whether to enable
Send invite immediately when Booking provisions portal access. - In
Customer booking changes, choose the policy for booking edits. - Decide whether customer cancellations are allowed.
- If cancellations are allowed, choose the cancellation policy and whether a reason is required.
- Click
Save Customer Portal Settings.
Common mistakes
- Turning on customer-facing access before the public host and login flow are ready.
- Allowing booking changes or cancellations without deciding how approval should work operationally.
What to do next
If customers need a branded website, continue to custom domain settings.
